Gratitude Tip 12: Get an Accountability Partner
Research shows that stating a goal out loud and writing it down increases the chance of reaching that goal. And sharing that goal with another human being (like an accountability partner) makes achieving that goal almost a sure thing. Weight loss programs know this better than anyone and rely on online communities, face-to-face support groups, and diet buddies to boost results.
Identify an accountability partner to call you out when you are behaving in ways that are less than grateful.
Ideal accountability partners should:
- Respect confidentiality
- Pass no judgement
- Be firm but kind
- Be available to talk about your progress
