Ten Biblical Tips for Giving Thanks

Apply these 10 biblical tips for developing gratitude in your own life.

  1. Give thanks because God is good and His love is endless and unconditional.   (1 Chronicles 16:34)
  2. Give thanks by telling others all about the wonderful things God does for you each and every day. (Psalm 9:1)
  3. Keep your thinking from becoming futile and your heart from being foolish and darkened by giving thanks to God. (Romans 1:21)
  4. Make sure every action and word shows gratitude and appreciation to the Father God. (Colossians 3:17)
  5. Show gratitude in every situation, good or bad, because this is God’s will for you.  (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
  6. Be always prayerful and pray with a thankful heart. (Colossians 4:2)
  7. Enter into the presence of God with a grateful heart and spirit.  (Psalm 100:4)
  8. Avoid obscenity, foolish talk, and coarse joking by instead celebrating God’s good gifts with gratitude. ( Ephesians 5:4)
  9. Do not worry or be anxious about anything, but in every situation, present your requests to God with a thankful heart.  (Philippians 4:6)
  10. Petition, pray, intercede, and be thankful for all people, including those who are hard to love.  (1 Timothy 2:1)
